You can’t tell skinand dirtapart, either by looking at them with your eyes or touching them.Skin with dirt on it looks like soft baby skin when you look at it and touch it.However, once you pour waterand scrub,thread-likedirt and thick threads of dirt peel off and roll away.
In the same way, sinsare also stuck to the skin of yourdaily life.Therefore, people can’t tell whether that is sinor a part of daily life,and can’t easily tell whether it is sinor righteousness.
If you pour wateron your body, soak the dirt,and scrub it off,dirtcan no longer stay stuckto the skin.
At first, you did not know whether something was sin, righteousness, or a part of daily life.But once youwash with the water of the Word,you can tellwhether it is sin, righteousnessor a part of daily life.
Repentanceis something truly good.How clean it feels if there is something dirty and you throw it away!How great it is to get rid of blemishes on your skin and see your skin become clear!How refreshed you feel when youbrush your teeth!How great it feels to scrub off dirt accumulated on your body!In this way, repentanceis thisterrific.
