[Scriptures]
Matthew 5:43-48
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven.
He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good,
and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?
Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others?
Do not even pagans do that?
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Isaiah 11:2-9
2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
or decide by what he hears with his ears;
4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.
6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling[a] together;
and a little child will lead them.
7 The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.
A person’s body has dozens of body parts.
So will you become healthy because you manage only one body part?
If you do, something will go wrong with the rest of the whole, and you will collapse in the end.
In the same way, if you consider only one thing as a god and treat it that way,
the result will be weak.
Watch over the whole just as the head watches over all the body parts.
If you treat the whole fairly and let them take action,
you will become tens of thousands of times stronger,
and so you will do a lot, gain a lot, and reap a lot.
Just as the sun shines on all the land
and the rains drenches all the land,
and just as God gives sun and rain to all the people of the earth
whether they are righteous or unrighteous, you must treat the whole fairly.
In this way, I bless all of you to live a life of reason by treating the whole fairly
for every matter in your life.
