Message: Pastor Jung Myung Seok

Scriptures: Psalm 23: 1-6

1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

2  He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,

   for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

   they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me

   in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil;

   my cup overflows.

6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me

   all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord

   forever.

Psalms 23, today's scripture, is one of David's poems of giving glory to God. This poem is his confession of faith to God as well as his testimony.

David said, "God is my shepherd, I lack nothing." However, you must feel that you are lacking in many ways. You lack many things now and will lack many things in the future too. You had to endure hardships and privations, you had worries and concerns, you had no hope in your youth, and in the past you must have felt that you lacked so much.

Living your life without lacking anything is not easy, but there is a secret to it. If you make God your true shepherd, it is possible. Also, always keep the person who was sent by God in this time period in your heart. The reason is God entrusted his work to the central figure.

David became a central figure because he lived his life of faith absolutely centering on God. It did not happen in a day but he centered on God from the time of his youth. If you look at all the central figures in the Bible, they became central figures because they centered on God. They centered on God exceptional way and as their fundamental principle.

A faith that absolutely centered on God! Try to think of God wherever you go. In order to do that, you must read the Bible continuously so that you can firmly engrave that mentality and thought in your mind. Whatever you do, always center on God, ask God, and take action.

If you do, you can live lacking nothing. In line with today's message, I pray that each individual and family would live always centering only God.
