If you sin, you must repent and be forgiven by the Lord.
And you absolutely must go through the <period of treatment> that pertains to the sin.
The <period of treatment> is the ‘period of repenting and making yourself clean through actions.’
Repenting through actions refers to ‘not committing that sin ever again.’
If you sin again during the <period of treatment>,
you are like someone whose cancer recurred after the surgery,
so it will be difficult for you to recover.
