1 Samuel 16:13-14
13) So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.
14) Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him.
Esther 2:16-18
16) She was taken to King Xerxes in the royal residence in the tenth month, the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.
17) Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
18) And the king gave a great banquet, Esther’s banquet, for all his nobles and officials. He proclaimed a holiday throughout the provinces and distributed gifts with royal liberality.
Hallelujah! I bid you the love of the everlasting Holy Father God and the peace of the Holy Son Jesus.
In the history of the Bible, God, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Son, and Jesus all entrusted missions to those They had enthusiastically raised and had expectations in and They told those people to fulfill given missions. But there were those who troubled the hearts of the Trinity, didn’t know Heaven’s shimjeong, and did things according to their own will until the end, even until the set time came. Because those people acted that way even when the set the came, God, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Son, and Jesus all abandoned the will for them at that point, elected a better person and had that new person do the work that the former one had failed to do.
The latter one is better, stronger, and more diligent. The latter one does bigger work that the former one, and fulfill the bigger hope. When we examine the history in the Bible, there are cases in which a more ideal history was made and the work was accomplished through a new attempt by appointing the latter one because the former one had failed. As we read today’s main Scriptures, first is the story about King Saul and King David.
God appointed Saul king and entrusted him with political power so that he would do things according to God’s will. Saul, however, did not do as God wanted. Additionally, Saul did not obey the words of the Prophet Samuel, who nominated Saul to God, either. This caused Prophet Samuel a severe headache and troubled his heart.
God told Prophet Samuel, “Samuel, don’t worry or be anxious about Saul whom you nominated and whom I permitted to be king. Let’s anoint David, Jesse’s son, and appoint him king. I will work through him and make the people follow him.”
So Prophet Samuel anointed David and appointed him as a king. God was with David and every time the neighboring nations invaded Israel, Israel was victorious in battle if David went out to fight. King Saul, however, was terrified whenever a neighboring nation invaded and hid trembling in fear.
Because ‘King Saul, the former one’ didn’t do well, God appointed ‘David, the latter one.’ The latter one was incomparably better than the former one. To the end, King Saul did not obey God, did not turn back, and in fact, tormented David, who was appointed by God, and tried to kill him. Ultimately, he lost a battle and died by committing suicide. David, on the other hand, became one with Samuel, the Prophet of God, was victorious in battle, and ruled over Israel joyfully while giving glory to God.
All of you should do the same. n the Bible, there are hundreds of cases like these. If they fail to do their responsibilities and disobey to the end no matter how much God invests in them and raises them, God replaces them with others. So all of you should do the same.
