God’s ‘heavenly throne’ and His ‘earthly throne’

Word: Pastor Jung Myeong Seok

Scriptures:

Hebrews 8:5

They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

Revelation 4:2-11

At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their hands. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

“ ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.”

Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

“You are worthy, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they were created

and have their being.”

Revelation 14:1-8

Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth - to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

A second angel followed and said, “‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great,’ which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.”

Hallelujah! I pray that you will be filled abundantly with the love of the eternal Holy Father God and the peace of the Holy Son.

God dwells in Heaven, and ‘God’s throne’ is present there.

Furthermore, the earthly places where God dwells are ‘true temples on earth’.

Moreover, temples are said to be ‘God’s houses’, ‘His temples’, or ‘His palaces’.

The miniature version of the temple is the ‘chair’. Therefore, the podiums of the temples are the ‘chairs in which God, the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Son’ sit.

In a family too, when they build a house, they make the room where they sit and rest comfortably, like in a chair, at the highest place, and God does that too. He puts the place that symbolises Heaven’s throne at the highest spot.

When you look at the Bible’s history, [you can see that] God placed the Holy Temple in a high place and called the people of God to the high mountains and the places for which He had a Will.

At the time of Solomon too, the temple of God was at the highest place, built on the ‘highest peak of Mt. Moriah’.

God also told Abraham to bring his offering to the high place when he was giving his offering to God, and the place he offered his son Isaac as a burnt offering was the ‘peak of Mt. Moriah’.

[God] also called Moses to ‘high Mt. Sinai’ and spoke to him, and Elijah also brought a burnt offering to God at a ‘high place on Mt. Carmel’ and fought and achieved victory over 850 false prophets who worshipped idols.

God sits in high places, and comes and makes history [there].

The White Throne of God is the highest place in Heaven.

When one looks out from the White Throne, all the things of Heaven are are visible, the entire universe is visible, the entire earth is visible, and even all individuals are visible.

Today, I bless that, just as Hebrews 8:5 says that God puts all things that are in Heaven on the Earth as symbols that are like shadows, and He takes action in ways that are appropriate for that, you will receive all the blessings before the throne of God.
