The medical volunteer departments carried out 'Health 101' free medical treatments at the Lord's Light of Hope Church in Jungli city. During the volunteering, free medical treatments and intercessory prayers took place.

“Through medical volunteers, both the mind and body can be healed.”At the Lord's Light of Hope Church in Jungli city, a unique volunteering proceeded where doctors from different regions of the country helped patients with various treatments and medical consultations. ‘The mind and body healing’ clinic was provided to improve patients’ healthy lives.

‘An effective treatment must be given the first time.”

The medical volunteer activity started 3 days ago at the Lord Light of Hope Church that is located at Jungli city, Min-Ju Rd. The volunteers consisted of doctors, nurses, intern doctors and pharmacists. These medical teams provided medical care in the areas of internal, external, orthopedic, dermatology and more; and they are members of Christian Gospel Mission, CGM. One of the volunteers is from Kaohsiung region in Taiwan and is a doctor of Ja-ji Hospital in the anesthesiology department.

Since each area of free medical care is perfectly equipped, hundreds of applicants gathered, including the CGM members and the general public. The most special fact about this volunteer event was that at the end of every treatment, doctors pray with patients. They would hold each other’s hands and pray so that the diseases and worries of the minds can disappear, as well as the physical illnesses.

Among each subject of health care, the most popular one was orthopedics, with over 20 applicants. According to Shie-Ming-Han, a doctor from the Chinese University of Medicine, elderly people and even young people are diagnosed with orthopedic related diseases. Especially most seniors above 50 years of age have joint atrophy, females develop osteoporosis after they reach menopause and younger people suffer with injuries and fractures caused from sports.

Doctor Shie-Ming-Han suggested stretching before sports to prevent damages to bones, and for females to often take walks outdoors and consume an abundance of calcium through soft fish bones and milk.

The organizers of this event expressed the hope in their hearts towards being able to take care of patients both mentally and physically.
