Today is the Lunar New Year’s day holiday in Korea. From 1970 to 1975, I neither cared about my birthday nor celebrated any holidays, but at that time I received all the truth. I did not see the Lunar New Year’s day as special or valuable. It was not a special day to give glory to God, but it was a time to meet brothers, sisters, and each other. However, people did not give thanks to God through that day but gave thanks to all their ancestors, so I did not think it was a special day. For me, I wanted to gather people worldwide, to set a day of giving thanks to God and to hold an event in the future, and, actually. I am planning to make it happen.
Also, I am going to hold a big event in which people of each nation of the world pray and repent for their nation. After that, I am going to hold a holy event when the whole world gathers and studies what we should do for God, receives a load/weight of the mission and executes it in each nation. Next, I am planning to hold a big event of asking God earnestly what we should ask [God.]
- From the Tuesday morning message on February 16th, 1999
Greeting the Lunar New Year’s day, a lot of members including foreigners came to Wolmyeongdong(WMD), which is Providence people’s hometown.
Wolmyeongdong church had a Lunar New Year’s Day service together with members who visited WMD at the cafeteria of the Holy Son’s house of love at 9 am on the 31st. Pastor Jung Beom-seok comforted people who could not visit their hometowns with various reasons through the message saying ‘Those who receive persecution for righteousness will be blessed.’
President, Pastor Jung Myeong Seok served a warm rice cake soup for those who came to WMD even though he could not spend the holiday together with them. Hence, many members had a time to reminisce the times that they spent holidays with Pastor Jung Myeong Seok. The members who visited WMD from Japan, Taiwan, and European countries, volunteered for washing dishes together with the WMD’s employees who did not go to their hometown during the holiday season. It brought warmth of the holiday.
Many people continuously came to pray for the deaconess, Hwang Gi-Bbeom and say the New Year’s Day greeting.
On the 28th, despite of a cold weather, members who came to visit the Mother’s Blue Tile Roof House and kindergarten and elementary school children who dressed up nicely with Hanbok-traditional Korean clothes- prayed for the deaconess, Hwang Gi-Bbeom’s health more fiery than any other day. Pastor Jeong Kyu-seok expressed gratitude on behalf of President, Pastor Jung Myeong Seok.
The hearts of the numerous members, who came to WMD to express their gratitude to the Holy Trinity, seemed to get warm as much as the warm weather that melt ice [this year.]
