The first heat wave warning of the year was issued in Seoul on August 1, and it was forecast that the high would be over 35°C for more than two days. Starting at 9 a.m., people sweated profusely even when they were just sitting down under the sun. Yet even in such a heat wave, the Wolmyeongdong Holy Land workers and foreign volunteers worked on the rock landscape across from the Holy Son’s House of Love beginning on July 28.
About 20 volunteers from Taiwan, Japan, and America participated. Beads of sweat ran down their faces as they moved the gravel and dug out the dirt.

The Holy Land workers and foreign volunteers protected themselves from sunlight by covering themselves with hats, arm covers, and cloths over their faces. They were focused throughout the work even in the hot weather and didn’t show signs of fatigue. There was an especially large number of foreign volunteers this time for the rock landscaping work across from the Holy Son’s House of Love, so communication during work was often done through gestures and eye contact. But [thankfully], there was not any accident.
The heat was suffocating people to the point that they wondered if working on the rock landscaping in such a heat wave was possible at all. But at those times, rain fell from the sky and cooled down the heat. The Holy Land workers and volunteers worked while giving glory to the Holy Trinity, Who cooled the heat so that the workers could increase their work efficiency. Through five days of work, the rock landscape across from the Holy Son’s House of Love began to take shape.
