On April 5th, which was the 71st Arbor Day, the Christian Gospel Mission (CGM) held a tree planting event in the Natural Temple in Wolmyeongdong.

CGM members from various regions all came and participated in the tree planting event. In Wolmyeongdong, they fertilized the aronia at Myeongmak-gol and arranged trees on Cho Mountain.

About this day, Deaconess Kang Ji- Sue from the Kangdong region of Seoul said, “I drove to Wolmyeongdong from the quiet dawn, being full of excitement. You could feel the chilly morning in Wolmyeongdong, yet the spring feeling during the daytime was splendid.”

She continued to express her thoughts, “I found it difficult to fertilize the trees because of the stench from the fertilizers. But I prayed for the trees to grow well and gave thanks to God for raising us with all His heart and dedication. I had a delightful and gratifying day with the Lord in Wolmyeongdong, and was filled with the Lord’s love in my heart upon returning home.”

On every Arbor Day of every year, Pastor Jung Myeong Seok always emphasized the importance of environmental protection. He suggested to us that it would be good to give thanks to God for giving us His beautiful natural creation. Accordingly, the event began and ended with prayer.
