Beep beep beep
Chirp chirp chirp
Cheep cheep cheep cheep
This is a seashore by a cliff where a water bird cries.
Swoosh~
A water bird that was flying up the cliff falls down.
Here I am next to an extremely high cliff by the seashore.
Again, with a swoosh~, it flies.
But it plops all the way down.
The water bird that flies up the cliff,
The water bird that has now lost all its strength
And is plopped down;
It looks just like me.
The waves violently
Smash the cliff.
It appears that the water bird may die,
Far from being able to climb the cliff.
Startled by the waves, the water bird flies up high again,
Only to fall back down.
Swoosh~
From where does it gain its strength?
It flies away, over the cliff.
To that kingdom of happiness over the cliff.
What relentless perseverance it has!
Ah!
I, too, will rise up again like that water bird
And climb over the cliff of life.
I too will gain strength from somewhere.
In the end,
I will surely climb up toward that ideal kingdom.
