I hear the sound of a bell
Over the vast land,
The restful sound of a bell
That weary spirits are longing for
Over the hill,
Under the cross that stands high
The sound of a bell of freedom
Through which God is calling
At evening’s glow
I stop my work
And pray with my hands together
For my weary spirit
For the spirits of all man kind
To God, who gives life
I give thanks to Him with my head bowed down
Over the vast land, upon which the setting sun is glowing,
I hear the sound of a bell without stopping
Dusk is beginning to fall
The night, when a weary heart can rest comfortably,
Begins
From the vault of the sky,
The moon and stars are looking down
God who lives above the Milky Way
Is also looking down
To see how the history of night on the earth
Is happening
