People say that silence is golden.
In my silence,
I will watch everybody in the world all day long
to see, ‘How are people
in this time period living?’
Resting my chin
in my deep silence,
I will watch my parents and brothers
to see, ‘How are they living
now at their respective ages?’
Closing my eyes
in the silence,
I will watch my beloved ones
to see, ‘How are they living
their lives today?’
In my silence, opening my eyes wide,
I will watch my beloved disciples,
who are living scattered across the world,
to see, ‘How are they doing
with the work with which I have entrusted them?’
In my silence, rounding* my eyes,
I will watch all people
who are living on this round Earth
to see, ‘How are they living their lives
in this time period?’
(Translator’s note: ‘Rounding eyes’ means ‘opening eyes wide.’)
Now lastly,
in silence,
looking up into the sky,
I will look at God
to see, ‘What is He thinking
about me?’
Ah,
God is also looking down at me in silence
to see, ‘How I am living my life.’
