Fickleness

I

So abhor

The fickleness of man.

You as well?

You’ve also experienced it?

Is it because of their immaturity?

Perhaps.

But more so because they do not know

What their future holds,

Nor do they properly gauge the present;

Unable to discern between good and evil.

Everyone

Despises fickleness,

Yet they themselves are ever-changing.

No matter how good they may seem,

Do not give them the love of the Lord,

Do not entrust them with a mission from Heaven.

If you attach a manggeon* to a pumpkin,

Its mabback* will peel off,

For the foolish,

Honor is inappropriate.

(Translator’s note: Manggeon is a traditional Korean headband that is woven with horsehair. It looks like a net and is used to hold a man’s bun/topknot in place. Mabback is a derogatory term for forehead.)

As they live their lives,

Failing to do their responsibilities, they change.

Then upon changing,

Regarding the times of old,

How I had assisted them and treated them well,

It all turns to slander

And false accusations,

Afflicting me with the agony of Hell.

Not everyone

Shares the same heart as mine.

When their desires are not granted,

They change.

Since the fields of their hearts are such,

They live and enjoy their lives

According to who they are.

Do not keep far from people,

Nor keep them too close,

But raise them accordingly.

Then later on, Problems will not arise.

When fulfilling the Will of

The Almighty God, Holy Spirit, and Holy Son,

With such people,

Is it possible to express your hearts without deception,

To live in mutual love

And then go to Heaven, the kingdom of God

That is blameless?

When they vanish,

Their hearts have changed, and so they disappear.

The fields of their hearts are such that

Both the Holy Son and His Body

Can do for them no more.

Someday, all people,

Both those who have changed

And those who haven’t,

Will be exposed like the light and the darkness,

That which you and I

Will see

And converse about.
