We are in holiday season so I had a chance to visit my older sister in the Philippines.
It was great because not only did I escape having to go to my in-laws house, but I got to go overseas. Yay! The Philippines is not that hot in January. Predawn and nighttime were even chilly. It was an hour-long taxi ride from ‘Greenhill’, where I was staying, to Manila (Providence) Church.
I
got a bollocking from my family members, when I kind of hinted that I would
be going to service on service days. Although I felt sad and sorry
because I could not go, I came to have the heart of wanting to pray fierily for
providence in the Philippines.
During my vacation
in the Philippines, I was able to go to a place called ‘Pagsanjan waterfall’.
It
was the filming location of ‘The Book of Revelation’ and you
could also experience riding a long boat in a narrow valley stream
of all
the way to the fall and back.
By the riverside, there were local children swimming, and smiling very brightly and also a middle aged woman doing endless laundry, unconcerned about polluting the clean water with white soaps. I could see various animals on both sides of the river like goats, chickens, cows and also many thickly overgrown trees due to the warm climate.
I
felt sorry for my rowers who were from the
area, skinny, old and dark as they rowed the boat through the
rough stream current. I
purposefully looked away to the natural environment
because I knew that I would get depressed. Finally,
we arrived at
the waterfall.
After getting out of the boat, we started to go nearer to the waterfall by sitting on a big, wide board made of trees. The water came up to my waist and it was so cold that I could not help but scream.
We finally came very close to the waterfall.
With
a ferociously loud noise, white drops
of water splashed at me. The plan was to go into the falls and
penetrate out to the stream. Because of the fierce waterfall coming straight down
on me, I couldn’t even open my eyes or make
any sound with my mouth; I
could only hear the waterfall growling.
Ah. Can a waterfall be this
strong?!
The Lord told us to feel
the Lord’s love through creation and the waterfall itself was the best in feeling his love. The Lord’s love is
as strong and powerful as this waterfall.
I couldn’t stop myself from being astonished about its amazing force.
My mood was just so fresh
even when my entire body was cold from being wet.
My beautiful Lord. You
appear to us in various forms.
Beloved Lord, who
strongly comes in an explosion of white
bubbles.
I do not know what to say
with my poor writing skills when I want to beautifully express and sing your
love. I will remember the Lord’s love I encountered in the ‘Pagsanjan’ Fall eternally.
Lord. I love you.
