My mother allowed me to enter university to study
After having toiled so much
Yet I was not even able to get a job
Because I studied something mediocre,
Having majored in history, a hopeless department.
Already 9 years have passed
Since I married and gave birth to three children
Starting today, the third and youngest
Is going into kindergarten
When I finally got a chance
To read the Word at church freely after having swam,
A call rings in
I got a part-time job
I can happily celebrate now
Celebrate this happy occasion
Although my mother toiled with all her effort
to have me study
I now work part-time
As an assistant and a cleaner
At a byeongsul(auxiliary) kindergarten.
Hurray
Even though I like it
Because it will earn me money for my kid’s snacks,
I will be showered with curses
When my mother
Hears this news
It has already been a long time
Since I’ve come out of school.
I am 41.
It is to do what really matters
There is no such thing as pride or ego now
A life could do such a thing
To disappoint a mother and
Feel sorry…
However,
There is one thing that Mother does not know
Mom, I am employed in Heaven
Jewels pour down upon me everyday
And I want to repay all your hard and toilsome work
I can be responsible for you, mother
Please look at me, this unfaithful daughter,
After having thrown away the standards of the world
My eternal part-time job in Heaven, that will never fire me
I have not studied in vain, have I?
I surely have not.
The Lord made me study,
Made me study for a long, long time
After having known how unintelligent brain was
Now I am a respectable worker at a part-time job
The Lord has granted me a spot to work
So I will work while being thankful and obeying.
