I called my friend after finishing everything that I needed to do after service on Sunday afternoon because I didn’t want to go home.
“Can I come over? and Can you grill some sweet potatoes? ^^~!!”
“Ya~ Hurry and come^^~”
As soon as I arrived at the door with my daughter, my friend greeted us with the nutty smell of grilled sweet potatoes. She looked disheveled, as if she had just woken up. My friend’s children are the same age as mine and they are good friend so they shout out of gladness and run around happily.
[My friend was saying that] there was exceptionally more food today and brought grilled sweet potatoes, mandarins and dried mangoes, and such. While we were chatting about this and that, dinner time had already approached.
“Ah~ I’m full. I’m too lazy to go home and make dinner hehe^^..”
“Then let’s at least cook kimchi stew here and eat altogether.”
After a while, my husband and youngest son who had gone to play soccer came over as well, and my friend’s husband brought back some ribs to put in the kimchi stew, making a small yet abundant meal.
As we were eating and talking, unaware of the time passing, all of sudden my friend’s husband started to talk about a famous poem during those young days, called ‘Dreaming of a sweet and noble friendship’.
‘Yeah~ To have such a close friend to whom I can freely come and go with a single phone call is truly heart-warming, and I’m so thankful.
I had gained a true sense of value and I was very thankful.
I too wish to become a person to whom The Lord can come and rest comfortably in solace at any time without burdening [His] heart.
