I went into a restaurant with my kids, expecting delicious spicy, cold, chewy noodles.

We ordered kimbap, spicy, cold, chewy noodles, and spicy rice cakes, according to what we each wanted. While we were waiting, an old lady sat next to us talked with us. “You have three kids?” Since every woman shares giving birth to kids and raising them as something in common, women can easily talk with each other whenever, wherever. She said that she has three kids as well, but they are all grown-up. The youngest one is 27 years old. She thought that the time when her kids were the same age as mine are now was very fun and the best time. “When they grow up, it is different again …” These were the words of the woman missing her kids.

One time, I asked my aged mom, “What was your happiest moment?” She said, “Even though we are wealthy now and have enough food and clothes, when I look at the past, the time when you guys were young was the best time, even though at that time I always worried about what to eat and how to live.” I remember that she replied like this. Because I am thinking of her, my nose is burning again.
Since it was Parent’s Day, my children skillfully folded colored papers into carnations, wrote letters, and, starting with my eldest- who is in the fourth grade- they filled my desk with them.
Since they were so pretty and since my children’s effort was precious, I posted them in a line on one side of my refrigerator, like medals.

There are layer upon of things that cost money,
but I feel that this moment right now, when my whole my family is healthy and is living together in harmony, is so precious and happy.

I am pretty sure that the the Lord, Who is watching me, also feels proud and glad, and I am deeply thankful to Him.
