A Beautyby 김인주

It was Saturday, when my husband had a day off from work.
After my kids’ baton lesson, we went to have lunch at a restaurant near our house. Its garden was so big and full of beautiful flowers that it brought back memories; I even lost track of time walked around.

While looking around the space, which was almost 24,500 sq. ft., I saw all kinds of fruit trees--pear trees, apples trees, grapevines, walnut trees, cherry trees, peach trees, persimmon trees, and akebi trees. They also had several vegetable fields and lookout sheds. Besides that, the garden was naturally decorated with large rocks and trees. That place was completely the dream house that I always wanted. My dream was to decorate the floor under the restaurant as a spacious and comfortable area for reading books and to decorate the upper floor with rooms. The dream had already come true in my thoughts: I was decorating the house, inviting people, and treating them with food in the yard.

However, when I returned to reality, I realized that I would need to win the lottery to own such a house.
I thought, ‘Maybe the house that the Lord is preparing for me in Heaven is an upgrade of a house like this!’ I decided to look around the neighborhood while I was at it.
The air was fresh because the neighborhood was located below a thickly-forested mountain. Although they were not big, each house had a vegetable field, a garden, and fruit trees. Each house was decorated in a different style, but they were all cute and lovely.

The area was just across a bridge from where we lived, but it was a completely different world.
My daughter made another wish: to start saving her allowance to buy a house like one of these.

With a popsicle in everyone’s mouth, we were having a good time. Then we stopped at a house that was a little shabby and old.
An old lady was sitting in front of the house. As we talked with her, I learned that her husband had retired from being a high school principal, and that the old lady was 80 years old. She was someone who had lived her life to the fullest while raising her five children to become great people.

My kids lost track of time while feeding the rabbits in the cage in front of the old lady’s house, and my husband and I talked with her until we realized that three hours had passed.
The old lady’s character was really great. As we talked about many things, I couldn’t feel any sharp edges in her personality--she was comfortable, warm, and humble. That moment purely displayed her wisdom of life. Her face, which was covered in age spots, looked so beautiful. We left after saying goodbye, and she told us to come back in mid-June, when the apricots in front of her house would ripen and become yellow and sweet.

I was reminded of my pastor’s message:“People’s old and worn-out clothes do not make people ashamed; their characters that hit the bottom make them ashamed.” Even if I were to live in the best house ever, I wouldn’t be happy if my character hit the bottom. Coming down the slope from the old lady’s house, I thought about how I wished to quickly cut off the bad character and habits that had become my constitution and to be, at that age, an old lady with good character. I hoped that my spirit would become completed with an even more perfect character and divine nature. I felt that I would be so happy to do that.

I listened to the Word about Cain’s Personalities today, and the Lord even provided a pleasant real-life example.
The Lord is truly a cool guy with the best divine Character.
