Houston Baptist University (HBU), “A university
that is boldly Christian,” is the next destination for Revolutionary
Ministries (Houston Eagle Church Campus Department).
Houston Baptist University was founded more than fifty years ago, and
has grown to have more than 2,500 students; the directors of this school still
keep true to the founders’ aim to “establish a Christian
college of the highest order in Houston that stresses quality of life as well
as quality of learning.”
Upon this foundation, for many years the members of the campus
department of Eagle Church have tried to branch out and establish roots in this
place, but this had not been possible until now. However, this year, for the
first time in the history of Revolutionary Ministries, two group Bible Studies
were held at this campus.
The events, which took place on September 17 and 24, were held at the
school chapel. Two new people attended the opening Bible study, while four new
people attended Bible study the following week. Through the lessons that were
taught, the audience learned about the importance of putting God as the first
priority and also about the importance of time: how to use time wisely by
starting the day early, praying sincerely and keeping one’s time with God
regardless of one’s situation. Once the lesson had finished, one of the new
people suggested that we offer praise together, so all the attendees offered
praise to God for over an hour with fiery hearts of love.
Through group Bible study events such as these, Revolutionary Ministries
is hoping not only to gather enough people to start an official club on campus,
but also to change the lives of many young people who are seeking truth into lives
with deeper relationships with the Lord.
Through Bible studies, Revolutionary Ministries is hoping to make
history with the Lord at HBU.
