Three Cents Column by Director Bong of RGO 24! 'Although I am lacking and my writing is only worth as much as 'three cents...' I share the Sunday messages and interpret them with 'the language of the world.''
A prisoner’s final wish while on death row
An executioner asked a prisoner on death row a question he would always ask as a matter of custom, “What is your final wish?”
The prisoner replied in a soft voice but without hesitation, “Give me five more minutes. I would like to finish reading the rest of this book that I have been reading.”
Two brothers who came from the same circumstances but led different lives
There were two brothers who grew up in a poor family and lived in circumstances of extreme hardship. As time passed, the older brother could not escape from his life of poverty. However, the younger brother became wealthy and lived a wealthy life. There is a reason this happened. In the house where the brothers grew up, there hung on the wall a very old framed picture of some written words. The older brother read those words as, ‘Dream is nowhere,’ and lived with a pessimistic outlook on life. The younger brother on the other hand read the words as, ‘Dream is now here.’ He did his best and put in his greatest effort in everything he did to make his dream a reality, such that if his dream was not now and here, it would be nowhere.
All things are determined by only what is right here and right now
The Divine Being described Himself as a Being without a shadow, and also described Himself as a God who makes history using a living person in the present. Since the time of creation and all throughout history, He is a Being who has no need to turn back time and has no regrets. He is telling us that His greatness lies in the fact that He is a Being who only focuses on the current point in time, that is, the right now.
It is usually the case that people perceive the elderly as people who relive their past memories and young people as people who live with hope for the future. However, we cannot live while being fixated on past memories, nor can we live with illusions of a vague future. A future where you are better off than now does not exist if you are not doing well in the present, the right now. All things are determined by only what is right here and right now. But people live having missed the present, and so they say that people never change. This is because people are not changing in the present, the right here.
The place you are in now and the time you are in now is the greatest place and time in all history. Do you think the hero who requested an extra five minutes to read the book held onto any regrets from the past? Do you think he was anxious about the future? People have regrets from the past or have anxieties about the future because they are not faithful to the present. We should be people who are not hesitant because of regrets from the past and who do not waver out of anxieties for the future, and instead, we should be people who are faithful to and focused on the present. Only then will we be able to experience a life of perfect resurrection and rapture, free of regrets and anxieties. You cannot expect to be a joyful spirit after you die when you live a life of complaints in the present. The people who live a life of thanksgiving and joy every day with neither regret nor anxiety will become the most joyful spirits.
Each day is the last day. Resurrect and rapture every day.
A person who has decided on what they will do in their life until they die, and does it without holding back, is a person who is unstoppable. We must live, in the present, a life that will reflect the life we want to live after we die. This is why we must resurrect every day and live a life of rapture every day, because every day is the last day. If today is the last day of your life and you live this day no differently than the other days you have lived, then you must confidently preach to the world about how you came to live this kind of a life, and preach to the ends of the Earth.
